SXSW has been a dream. Not the panels. Not the parties. The PEOPLE!!!
I finally met so many internet friends in real life. People I've been DMing for months. People whose content I've been cheering on from afar!
The Shortcut
Something clicked this weekend: There's a shortcut that happens when you get in the room with people who are doing what you're doing.
You learn by osmosis.
The random conversation at dinner that changes how you think about your business. The offhand comment that solves a problem you've been stuck on for weeks. The energy of being around people who just GET IT.
You can't replicate that on a Zoom call.
Community Matters
Here's what I keep coming back to: Community isn't a nice-to-have. It's ESSENTIAL.
Getting together in person revitalizes you in a way nothing else can. It reminds you why you started. It fills your cup back up when you didn't even realize it was empty. Building a spiritual community around your work isn't optional anymore.
And tbh it's reeeeallllly hard to get ahead without it.
Show Up
The rooms you're in matter. The people you surround yourself with matter. Showing up IRL matters.
If you've been doing this alone, grinding behind a screen, wondering why you feel so drained... this is your sign to find your people.
Final Thoughts
Get in the room. It'll change everything. The connections you make, the lessons you learn by osmosis, and the energy you absorb from people who get it. That's the stuff that creates big changes in your business and your life.
You can read all the books, watch all the videos, and attend all the virtual events. But nothing compares to being there in person with your people.
Stop grinding alone and start finding your community.
