What I'm Doing Now

This is a now page, a brief update on where my time and energy are going.

Career Cheat Codes

I'm officially an author. My book Career Cheat Codes is being published by Penguin Random House this April, and I still can't believe it's real. When the email from PRH landed in my inbox a year and a half ago, I thought I was being scammed. Since I was a little girl, it's been my dream to become an author. This is the handbook I wish I had years ago, built for anyone who knows they're capable of more but feels stuck trying to figure out the unspoken rules.

Building My Brand

I help people overcome the fear of being seen online and build personal brands that actually feel like them. My community has grown to over 500,000 people across social media. I recently wrote about hitting 50,000 followers by doing the opposite of what I was told. Everyone said stay professional, don't overshare, talk about your work. I did all of that and grew at a crawl. The moment I started sharing real stories and real emotions, everything changed.

I also wrote about going from $25/hour to $1,250/hour. The shift had nothing to do with getting smarter or earning more certifications. It happened when I finally saw the impact I was making and started pricing accordingly. One client took a single session of my advice and landed a job paying $30,000 more. Another signed a $12,000 PR deal. The math was right in front of me. I just had to believe it.

I was featured in Fast Company talking about navigating platform changes and building a sustainable career in the creator economy. I've also been writing about what B2B buyers actually trust and why authenticity beats polished corporate messaging every time.

Life in Austin

I live in Austin, Texas, in a house that's only accessible by tram. Yes, that one. Before all of this, I graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Strategic Communication and spent time as a professional cheerleader on CMT's "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team." That chapter taught me more about resilience and reinvention than any business course ever could.

These days I spend my time creating content, leading live branding cohorts, and teaching creators and entrepreneurs how to find their voice. I also wrote about paying $5,000 for a social media strategy I never used, because I was terrified of being seen. That fear doesn't go away. You just get better at doing it anyway.
